What is a case plan?
In cases where reunification between the child and the parents is deemed and appropriate goal, the Department of Children and Families will offer the parents a case plan with tasks to remedy the problems that led to the removal of the children. These tasks usually include but are not limited to parenting classes, psychological evaluations, maintaining stable housing and employment, drug treatment and testing, and counseling.
Once a parent substantially complies, a child can be returned to the parent. However, if a parent fails to comply with the case plan, a judge can terminate the parent's rights.
